Lloyd & Marques Houston (MH) Concert

MH, Zahra (Music Editor), Lloyd and Moi (Editor in Chief)

MH and Moi

So Thursday evening we took a trip down the motorway to see Lloyd and MH in concert at Indigo @ the O2 arena in London.

I have never been an avid fan of these 2 artists but have got MH's old album and thought hey why not lol.

So, courtesy of a hook up from my mate Tyson of The Leon Group, we went backstage to meet the guys and take some pics. On Wednesday we got an interview with MH which you can read in the forthcoming edition of Tru life Magazine.

Usually most US artists I have met have been a bit arrogant in the past but these 2 guys were absolutely nice and lovely.

So sweet, polite and courteous and I even got a little hand squeeze from MH :-)

European Collaboration

UK Artist Claire Angel will be working with some producers from the Netherlands who will be flying in to the UK to record with Ms Angel. They will stay for a week in Birmingham from 18th - 25th May courtesy of Moi and I look forward to making some hits!!!

We met Fabian at New Skool Rules in rotterdam in April and after listening to some of his track we thought they were a production team we would like to work with!

Organisation is the key

It just seems that when I clear my desk, by the end of the week it looks like a bomb site. My efficiency decreases and I start doodling on Facebook when I kNOW I have work to do lol!

Today Im in a DO NOT DISTURB zone. I need to get all these piles of paperwork sorted! Respond these 650 emails. Finish off these pieces of outstanding work. I can't wait to move back into an office environment because working from home is not the one for me anymore!

I don't get to sleep, my house has become a hotel and I have too much visitors lol. Organisation is definitely been the key to a lot of my success. Now its time to get organised!!!

Torn between 2 worlds

Sunshine and rain,

happiness and pain.

A luv that is old and 1 that is new,

know that I am me but wishin I was U.

Dying to go out and then wishing I stayed in,

living life in faith but forever tempted by sin.

Always trying to be kind when I know I should be cruel,

abiding by the law whilst breaking all the rules,

looking for a soulmate but searching for a friend,

Im torn between 2 worlds, when is it gonna end?

The time has come

The time has come for a radical change and I am about to enter a new era t see clearer

...so I need to disappear off of these streets for 6 weeks and then I will be back

....and thats a matter of fact

Tulisa has been tested for swine flu

THE lead singer of chart-topping British band N-Dubz lies motionless in a hospital bed, her face covered by a mask, after being diagnosed with suspected swine flu.

Tulisa Contostavlos, 20, flew to Athens on Thursday night for a break with family and friends after finishing a 23-date UK tour, when the band performed for thousands of teenage fans.

Chart-topper ... Tulisa

Chart-topper ... Tulisa

But she fainted and needed medical attention during the flight — then had to be rushed to hospital yesterday after a doctor noted all the symptoms connected with the potentially deadly virus.

Tulisa was last night under observation on an isolation ward in Pendeli, Greece, as doctors awaited the results of tests.

A source close to the band, currently top of the UK singles chart with Number One, said: “Tulisa is very poorly indeed. She has gone from a huge high of chart success and the tour to panicking about her health.

“Tulisa’s family have been forced to wear masks and have only been allowed minimal contact. It is a terrifying time.”

The band’s spokesman said: “We are hopeful Tulisa will be given the all-clear and will be well enough to leave hospital in the next couple of days.”

Band members Richard “Fazer” Rawson, 22, and Tulisa’s cousin Dino “Dappy” Contostavlos, 21, are in Britain and have been told about her illness

Sugababes have become the first UK pop act to sign to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records.

The trio finalised the deal with the famous label at a meeting in London last month.

Roc-A-Fella is known for releasing work by high profile hip-hop artists, including its CEO Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel and Jadakiss.

The trio are currently working on their seventh album, which they described as "a biggie" on their website.

They claim they've already booked recording sessions in Los Angeles and Miami, and are planning to team up with producers who have worked with Rihanna and Beyonce.

Only last week they revealed, via their official Twitter account, that they will be collaborating with producer RedOne, best known for his work with Lady GaGa.

The group released their last album, Catfights And Spotlights, in October 2008 through Island Records.

Wednesday 29th April

I really need to wake up before 9am as I end up feeling like the day is nearly over lol. I had so much to do, I was wondering how I was going to fit it all in!

I had a 121 session with one of my writers and then were visited by Supreme Enterianment who came up for ameeting from bristol. I was flattered when they said they looked upon me as a mentor. I will be doing an event with them in Bristol on 14th August called Supreme Dance...will let you know when more info is available!

Then I went off to the Tuned On Seminar at Symphony Hall, it was a great insight from those working in the music business. Cali born rapper Slcikmouth decided to come down from London on my recommendation. It is amazing the amount of people I have met this year who have never come to Brumtown!

Anyway look out for his forthcoming release:

REAL DEAL COMEDY JAM - SUN 26th April

As usual Tru Life was a Platinum sponsor for the Real Deal Comedy Jam. So myself, the music editor (Zahra), the theatre & Film Editor (Elishah) and our Communication Officer (Makeda) headed down to the Alexandra Theatre to watch a good show. I love the fact that I live in town and can walk everywhere lol So we were at the theatre within 5 mins.

The show started a bit late but that was because people were still arriving 30mins after it was due to start. KOJO was the resident host on this show and you should check out his show on MTV Base. The show had a great line up and I enjoyed the show. We walked over the road to Sobar for the after party. It was a very nice venue, a first for e as I do not really go out much to be honest.

Shout out to Nathan, Sammy, Damian and NZinga for bringing us a great line up yet again and all the other sponsors!

Next one is in June so I hope to see y'all there!
